The Media and The Experts™ Are Purposefully Spreading Disinformation
Experts and sycophant television anchors regularly lie to the public, with zero consequence
The disinformation crisis is accelerating.
Media outlets have allowed The Experts™ to spread disinformation, unchallenged, since the COVID response started nearly two years ago.
But the war on reality is getting worse, and it’s a direct response to their policies, mandates and endless patronization collapsing like a dying star.
With the current surges overwhelming the Northeast, they have no other options. When the South experienced large increases over the summer, the media was able to focus their unearned sense of superiority at those they despise.
But now the surge is affecting them, it’s affecting their constituents and their friends and communities that vote the right way, have the correct set of socially acceptable cultural opinions and Believe in Science™.
What else can they do? They can’t blame themselves, or blame those who agree with them and have “done the right thing,” they have to continue blaming those who aren’t watching.
Admitting that their shrieking superiority had no basis is an untenable, unacceptable option.
And so, they lie.
It’s important to highlight some of the more blatant, offensive examples of purposeful disinformation coming from The Experts™ and their media partners, because while their viewership might be shrinking dramatically each day, they’re still capable of doing incredible amounts of damage.
Corporate executives still listen to them and use their disinformation to determine policy. The party that controls the public health establishment, every major university, the entertainment industry, tech companies and most legacy media outlets is still watching and listening. And importantly, Ronald Klain, who likely has more influence on federal policy than anyone in the country, including the President, still watches and listens too.
Disinformation is dangerous. And it’s coming from CNN.
Peter Hotez, Jim Acosta and The Big Lie
Dr. Peter Hotez is a political activist masquerading as a scientist. And as such, his credentials have given him a gigantic platform to spread his political activism and conspiracy theories.
Think I’m exaggerating?
This is a graphic from a journal entry written by Peter Hotez that appeared in summer 2021 in PLOS Biology
This is the level of intellectual analysis we are dealing with when discussing Peter Hotez. Does this look like a graphic made by someone concerned with “science?” Or does it look like the delusional ravings of a conspiracy theorist?
How does this happen? How does someone so clearly disconnected from reality keep being presented as some kind of dispassionate, unbiased and unquestionable keeper of science?
This is the header of his journal submission:
There is a troubling new expansion of antiscience aggression in the United States. It’s arising from far-right extremism, including some elected members of the US Congress and conservative news outlets that target prominent biological scientists fighting the COVID-19 pandemic.
To the conspiracy theorists like Hotez, any criticism of the unprecedented and disgraceful destruction of freedom and democracy perpetrated by politicians and incompetent advisors like him is “aggression.”
Highlighting the inarguable failure of COVID policy is “antiscience aggression,” because “science” in the delusional mind of frauds like Hotez is what HE says it is. It’s not the result of process of hypothesis, experiment and result, it’s simply following the correct set of political opinions and doing what he tells you, without question.
Does that sound like another prominent political activist who refuses to accept any criticism and has openly declared that science is what he says it is? Ringing any bells? Three guesses who Hotez describes as his “mentor.”
Of course. OF COURSE.
So naturally, Hotez was interviewed on CNN recently and tag teamed with Jim Acosta to spread some more disinformation.
This two minute and fifteen second clip, painful as it is to listen to, contains some easily disproven lies from the political activists determining and influencing public policy:

This is disinformation.
Disinformation is broadcast from Jim Acosta, as well as from Peter Hotez. They are purposefully lying, to cover their own incompetence and the complete collapse of the policies they’ve promoted.
Hotez claims that an 80-85% vaccination rate would have “staved off” the current surge of cases we’re seeing across the country.
This is a lie. It’s anti-science.
Marin County, California is the most heavily vaccinated large US county. It’s just north of San Francisco, and is home to some of the wealthiest people in the world, people who think the way Hotez wants them to think, who watch CNN and set corporate policy for some of the most influential companies in the world.
Nearly every single eligible person in the county is vaccinated. The CDC only shows percentages up to 95%, anything higher is not displayed — and every single “at least one dose” metric has maxed out:
They are well past the 80-85% vaccination rate that Hotez claims would have “staved off” the current surge.
Except, of course, cases in Marin County are at the highest level they’ve ever been:
Marin has the fourth highest case rate in the state of California. Cases are up an astonishing 590% in the past fourteen days. Does that look “staved off” to you?
What about neighboring San Francisco, another one of the locations filled with Hotez devotees, where 86% of voters chose Joe Biden. The Castro neighborhood of San Francisco had 95% of voters choose Biden. This is a city that almost exclusively follows the political leanings of Hotez and his favored media outlets.
So it should come as no surprise that nearly everyone in the city has done what he and CNN have instructed them to do; they’ve been vaccinated:
92% of everyone in the city/county has been at least partially vaccinated. Every other metric is maxed out at 95%, well above the 80-85% range that Hotez demanded.
Let’s see if they’ve managed to “stave off” the current surge!
That’s a big fat nope.
But it’s not just the United States, these vaccination rates have been exceeded in many other locations around the globe.
As far back as November, Australia was celebrating reaching an 80% vaccination rate among those 16 and older.
MELBOURNE, Nov 6 (Reuters) - Australia reached on Saturday a full inoculation rate of 80% of those aged 16 and older, which Prime Minister Scott Morrison called a "magnificent milestone" on the path to becoming one of the world's most vaccinated countries against COVID-19.
That number’s now reached 91.3% of everyone over sixteen fully vaccinated. Nearly 95% of everyone eligible to be vaccinated in Australia has received at least one dose. 80% of the entire population in Australia has been at least partially vaccinated.
Well, it’s likely that with those impressive figures, they’ve been able to prevent any surges!
Well. Uh. That does not look great.
In fact, on New Year’s Eve, Australia reported 32,827 new cases, their highest single day number of the pandemic. The vaccine passports, the masks, the quarantine camps, the endless lockdowns, all the policies that people like Hotez demand, the same policies that CNN promotes, are all failing.
That 32,827 number is a rate of 1,294 per million people, or the equivalent of roughly 425,000 cases in the United States. All with ~80% of the country vaccinated and ~95% of everyone over 16 fully vaccinated.
Australia is actually reporting a higher number of new cases than Sweden, after adjusting for population:
It’s the same story in Portugal, with one of the world’s highest vaccination rates:

The worst part is that we’ve known that Hotez was wrong for *months*, ever since Singapore’s case rate exploded in the fall, with vaccination rates exceeding 80%:
The examples are endless. Ontario, Canada. Quebec. Gibraltar. Spain. Denmark. The Cayman Islands. I could go on forever.
Peter Hotez IS anti-science. He is pseudoscience. He is lying.
Additionally, he claims that the deaths we’re seeing are “all among the unvaccinated, just about.”
That’s another lie.

In Minnesota, there is clearly a benefit to vaccination with regards to hospitalization and deaths, but it’s nowhere near the “all among” lie Hotez spread.
In Ontario, Canada, 71% of current hospitalizations are among those fully vaccinated, when 83% of the population is at least partially vaccinated.
In Vermont, 103 deaths have been reported among vaccine breakthrough cases through December 15th:
By December 15th, Vermont had only reported 440 total deaths since the start of the pandemic and 304 in 2021. There is no statistical reality that exists in which COVID deaths in Vermont are “all among” the unvaccinated. Or as he said, “all among people who’ve made a deliberate decision to refuse vaccines.” It’s impossible.
It does not imply that the vaccines aren’t helping to prevent deaths, but making the claims that Hotez makes is quite literally engaging in disinformation.
Four of the top nine states1 in recent COVID death rates are states with above average vaccination rates.
What they’re claiming is a complete lie. Acosta is a liar. Hotez is a liar.
Acosta continues to encourage the disinformation by saying we’re going to keep scrambling because of 64 million eligible people who are unvaccinated.
Except the lowest vaccination rates among eligible demographics are in kids 5-11. Kids who are at little to no risk of death from COVID.
86% of everyone over 18 in the US is at least partially vaccinated. There are roughly 37.5 million eligible adults who haven’t been vaccinated, nowhere near the 64 million number that Acosta throws around.
At 84%, the rate isn’t much lower when considering everyone over 12. And they know those numbers. They’re easily accessible. They just don’t care.
Hotez shares that he asked the Department of Justice and Homeland Security to tamp down the spread of information he doesn’t like, because it helps prove him wrong.
These people are lunatics. They are purposefully lying. Purposefully spreading disinformation to appeal to their own (and their viewers) unearned sense of importance.
The people yelling the loudest to stop “disinformation” are often the ones promoting disinformation the most.
Peter Hotez is an incompetent conspiracy theorist, who is given a platform to spread disinformation with the encouragement of a nodding media activist.
And it should come as no surprise, given his mentor, Dr. Anthony Fauci, loves to spread disinformation and media sponsored authoritarianism himself.

Too much useful info for me not to subscribe, so I just remedied that. I've used your (cited) graphs in board of education presentations. Keep up the good work.
Hotez looks like an SNL character who would be played by Al Franken.
